John F. Walker is a discharged United States Army officer who served as the second Captain America appointed by the United States. He served as a captain in the 75th Ranger Regiment and is the first person to receive the Medal of Honor three times.

Walker graduated from the United States Military Academy in 2009 and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 2013. He fought in the War in Afghanistan and served in the 75th Ranger Regiment, becoming a captain. In 2024, Walker was selected by the U.S. government to serve as the second Captain America, following Steve Rogers's retirement. During the Flag Smashers insurgency, Walker served with the Global Repatriation Council to defeat the Flag Smashers. During an assassination attempt on his life, Flag Smasher Nico killed Walker's partner, Lemar Hoskins. In an act of vengeance, Walker brutally murdered Nico. He was other than honorably discharged and relinquished his title as Captain America. Walker, equipped with a makeshift shield, confronted the leader of the Flag Smashers, Karli Morganthau, but assisted Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes and averting an attack on the GRC.

Following the attack, Central Intelligence Agency director Valentina Allegra de Fontaine recruited Walker to operate under the U.S. government as U.S. Agent.
