The Mandarin is a fictional character portrayed by Trevor Slattery in 2013. The character was used by Aldrich Killian to attribute a series of bombings on a figure.
In December 2013, Tony Stark discovered the Mandarin was Trevor Slattery and he was arrested. The character attracted the ire of Xu Wenwu, the founder of the Ten Rings who goes by the name of the Mandarin, and he was captured by Jackson Norriss at Seagate Penitentiary. Slattery was taken to the Ten Rings headquarters and served as a jester for Xu until 2024.
