Emil Blonsky is a former commander in the British Royal Marines, former United States Special Operations Command officer, and former speaker.

Born in Russia, Blonsky was raised in England, where he joined the British Royal Marines and became a captain. He led the manhunt for Bruce Banner under Thaddeus Ross. Following the Battle at Culver University, Blonsky suffered severe physical injuries. Blonsky was injected with the Super Soldier Serum, becoming Abomination. He was defeated by Banner in a duel in Harlem, and was later incarcerated in the Vault, a S.H.I.E.L.D. facility in Barrow, Alaska.

Blonsky was transferred to the United States Department of Damage Control supermax prison in California. Assisted by Wong, a Master of the Mystic Arts, he fought in the Golden Daggers Club. By 2025, Blonsky was eligible for parole, and his release was negotiated by Jennifer Walters. Upon his release, Blonsky returned to his self-healing group Abomaste at the Summer Twilights retreat in California. During the battle at Summer Twilights, Blonsky transformed into Abomination. Failing to abide by the terms of his parole, he returned to prison, though he was released by Wong, who gave him refuge in Kamar-Taj.
